Impetus Napoleonic. Mod for Impetus

Hace unos años un grupo de amigos y yo comenzamos a jugar a Impetus, para el que no lo conozca se trata de un reglamento para representar batallas en la Antigüedad y la Edad Media. Al comenzar decidimos hacer nuestros ejércitos en escala 1/72, debido a la facilidad para encontrar referencias y al precio de las mismas.

A few years ago a group of friends and I started playing Impetus, It's a rulebook for represent battles in Antiquity and the Medieval ages. We decided to collect our armies in scale 1/72, due to the ease to find references and their price.

Tras varios años y más de cinco ejércitos por cabeza, aunque he de reconocer que algunos están aún sin montar y pintar, decidí probar a adaptar el reglamento a la época napoleónica y crear las listas de ejército para las principales potencias implicadas entre 1805 y 1815. Esta post será una breve introducción previa a la partida que jugaremos esta semana para seguir probando el mod del reglamento.

After several years and more than five armies per head, although I must admit that some are still unassembled and unpainted, I decided to try to adapt the rulebook to the Napoleonic period and create lists of the armies involved between 1805 and 1815. This post will be a brief introduction before the game that we will play this week to continue testing the mod of Impetus.

Como introducción a la siguiente partida os diré que enfrentamos franceses a españoles en la península. Aunque recientemente hemos jugado alguna partida entre británicos y españoles. Os dejo a continuación algunas fotos de dicha partida y de alguna de las unidades que tengo terminadas de pintar a falta de la base. Lo siento de antemano por las miniaturas sin pintar, pero estamos empezando a probar el reglamento y llevamos poco tiempo con las minis en nuestras manos.

As an introduction to the next game I will tell you that we will fight French against Spanish on the Peninsula. Although we have recently played some game between British and Spanish. I leave here some photos of this game and some of the units that I have finished painting except the bases. I'm sorry for the unpainted photos, but we're starting to test this mod.

Aunque el reglamento lo subiré a este blog cuando lo tenga mejor testeado, si que puedo ir comentando los añadidos que de momento se han hecho. En primer lugar el tamaño de las bases es el mismo utilizado en Impetus, siendo la infantería de línea napoleónica las antiguas FP. He añadido reglas de climatología que modificarán los disparos y los test de disciplina.

Although I will upload the mod to this blog when I finish to tested it. I want to talk about the additions that have been made. In first place, the size of the bases is the same used in Impetus, being the Infantry Line of Napoleonic ages the old FP. I have added climatology rules that will modify the shots and discipline tests.

Para reflejar la importancia de las formaciones en estas guerras se han añadido reglas para la formación en Línea, Hostigadores, Cuadro y Marcha en Columna. Así como oficiales "libres" que podrán moverse como unidades propias por el campo de batalla para ayudar allí donde más se les necesite.

To reflect the importance of the formations I have added rules for the formation in Line, Skirmish, Square and March in Column. As well as "free" officers who can move like a unit across the battlefield to help where they are most needed.

Han sido añadidos modificadores al disparo y a la artillería para hacerla más mortífera, sobretodo en corta distancia. En melé se han añadido y quitado bonos, uno de los añadidos ha sido el bono de carga de infantería a infantería en cuadro, o infantería en cuadro contra caballería. Así mismo la caballería cargando contra una línea de infantería contará como carga de flanco, pudiendo desbandar la unidad si gana el combate. Por último he añadido reglas de capturar la bandera del regimiento enemigo que darán bonificador y penalizador a la unidad que lo consiga.

Modifiers have been added to the shot and the artillery to make it more deadly, especially in short distance. In melee have been added and removed bonuses, one of the additions has been the charge of infantry against infantry square, or infantry square against cavalry. Likewise the cavalry charging against an infantry line will count as a flank charge, being able to disband the unit if it wins the combat. Finally I have added rules to capture the flag of the enemy regiment that will give a bonus and penalty to the unit that achieves it.

Si las pruebas que llevemos a cabo son satisfactorias colgaré el reglamento en no muchos días así como las listas de ejército para que podáis probarlo.
